Application methods and precautions of water-soluble fertilizers

With the development of agricultural modernization, water-soluble fertilizers are increasingly favored by farmers because of their high efficiency and convenience. As a multi-component compound fertilizer that can be completely soluble in water, water-soluble fertilizers can not only be quickly absorbed by crops, but also significantly improve the utilization rate of fertilizers.

There are many ways to apply water-soluble fertilizers, but no matter which method is used, you need to master the correct operating skills. The most commonly used application methods include flushing, drip irrigation and foliar spraying. Flush application is to add water to the water-soluble fertilizer in proportion and flush it into the field with irrigation water, which is suitable for large areas of farmland. Drip irrigation is to directly deliver the fertilizer solution to the roots of plants through the drip irrigation system. This method can minimize fertilizer waste and improve fertilizer utilization. Foliar spraying is to dilute the water-soluble fertilizer and spray it on the leaves of the plant, and directly absorb nutrients through the leaves. It is suitable for rapid nutrition supplementation and emergency treatment.

During the application process, special attention should be paid to the concentration and application time of the fertilizer. Too high a concentration may cause damage to crops, and too low a concentration will not achieve the expected effect. Therefore, the product instructions should be strictly followed when mixing. Generally speaking, the fertilizer concentration should be controlled between 0.1% and 0.3% during flushing and drip irrigation. When spraying on the leaves, the concentration should be lower, usually between 0.05% and 0.1%. In addition, the best application time is usually before 10 am or after 4 pm on a sunny day, avoiding high temperatures and strong light periods.

Although water-soluble fertilizers are good, they should not be overly relied on. Organic fertilizers and other fertilizers should be used in combination with the specific needs of the soil and crops to achieve comprehensive nutrient supply. At the same time, soil and crops should be tested regularly, and fertilization plans should be adjusted according to the test results to ensure healthy growth of crops.
